Dedicated to the memory of Harold McMullen

This site is a tribute to Harold McMullen, who was born on Smallshaw Lane June 1941.

He was much loved & adored by his Wife Margaret they had been married for 62 years in September 2022.

Harold had three Sons, along with 6 Grandchildren & 6 Great grandchildren, Harold also had a brother who he watched grow and was extremely proud of him.

Over the years Harold had many dogs including lurchers, boxers, rottweilers, & black a Labrador.

But Harold first fell in love with greyhounds when His Hannah needed a home, Hannah stole his heart right from the beginning.
Hannah had been treated badly to the start of her life so Harold being Harold dedicated all his time and love into helping Hannah heal & knew she’d be a loyal companion.
Once Hannah passed away Harold went in such of another retired greyhound needing a home. Then along came another greyhound, then another, then another!
Harold continued to rescue greyhounds up into his 80’s but only ever had room for one greyhound at a time especially his girl Fran he left behind.

Harold spent every day with his girl Fran right up until May 2022.

Harold used to take Fran out every morning until he sadly went into hospital in July 2022.

Unfortunately Harold did not make one last walk with Fran, but she did get to see her Daddy before he sadly passed away.

Fran will continue to be spoilt rotten everyday by her loving Mummy Margaret.
(Harold’s family still think Margaret may continue to rescue greyhounds as she absolutely fell in love with each & every dog that came to stay)

Instead of flowers or contributions Harold would have wanted a donation to his beloved Greyhound Friends.

Thank you
